  • Prof. Sherif Sheta is an Associate Professor and BSc in Architectural Engineering, Department of Architectural Engineering, Mansoura University, where he had been employed since 1993. Sheta received both his PhD and MSc from Mansoura University, Egypt, and BSc from the Department of Architecture, Alexandria University in 1991. He worked as a visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Technology Systems, East Carolina University (2007-08), served as Vice Dean in the Faculty of Engineering at Delta University for Science and Technology (2009–10), and currently delegated as Vice Dean for Education and Students Affairs and Head of the Architecture Department in the Faculty of Fine Arts in Mansoura University. His research focuses on sustainable architecture, design development and criticism in theories and techniques; heritage planning, and interrelated socio-economic challenges for future cities. He also Provided and shared thoughts in developing sustainable measures for a knowledge-based society in accordance with East Carolina University Long-term Goals (2006-10) in the USA, he worked as Egypt coordinator/liaison officer (for Egypt) of the Middle Eastern North African Sustainable Habitat Development Association (MENASHDA). He had DAAD – Scholarship Award at the REAP WORKSHOP: International Development in Cairo – held at HafenCity Universität Hamburg (HCU), Hamburg, Germany, October 1st -14th 2012, DAAD – Scholarship Award, sponsored participation in the Summer School of TU Ilmenau: Apr 25th to May 1st 2011, DAAD’s sponsored participation at the Youth Forum in Berlin, November 5-8th 2008. He Initiated as a member of the Honorary Beta Mu Chapter of Epsilon Pi Tau (Who’s Who Directory), Dec. 2007 to date. He also had the Schroff Participation Grant (SPG) Award Winner, 2007, DAAD – Scholarship Award; sponsored Participation in the Summer School: August 19th to 31st 2007, University Awards for best PhD Thesis in 2003, and Best MSc Thesis in 1998. He also participated in Two DAAD’ Study Trips to Germany as a supervisor (university teacher), to groups of 15 students/each; 2010 & 2012.
