3D Smart Campus Project
Scientific Research Grant on 3D Smart Campus Applications 2020
In the 1st of September 2020, A new research project titled “GIS-Based Smart Campus for buildings Assessment, mobility and urban infrastructure” was signed between ESUlab/ Urban City Lab and Mansoura University/ Higher Education and Research Sector Project. The project enable planners -through use of 3D GIS modeling- to create interactive systems that offer detailed visualization of data which in turn supports them in the decision making process. Accordingly, through proper 3D visualization, three-dimensional GIS models are capable of expressing spatial attributes in an intuitive manner that enables the analysis of planned projects prior to their execution and makes community participation more effective and transparent.
The project has 3 Main Objectives as an interdisciplinary research for achieving sustaismart campus and the sustainability of the research; First: Create a 3d GIS database and platform for urban infrastructure and buildings at Mansoura University, Second: Develop Urban-city lab at Mansoura University as an Entrepreneurship model for sustaining research and digital services, and third; Development of Integrated Sensing, Energy Harvesting, and Cooling Pad (ISEHCP) as a smart application for mobility purposes.
Besides Architecture Department the project will be carry out with a partnership of Public Works Engineering Department, Production and Mechanical Design Department, Mechanical Power Engineering Department, and CIT Center at Mansoura University during the coming 2 years 2020:2022.
